Applications invited for third six/fixed term tenancy.

Crucible is a new and exciting barrister’s chambers, founded in October 2020 following the dissolution of Charter Chambers. Crucible is made up of 19 original members from Charter and is led by Neil Hawes QC.

We are an innovative and progressive set. Our dynamic, experienced, and approachable practitioners bring a strong following and reputation, both as individuals and as a collective. We are proud to offer quality representation at every level of Call. The members of Crucible are highly regarded in the fields of financial crime, serious complex crime, and regulatory law.

We are seeking similarly minded ambitious, hard-working applicants for third six/fixed term tenancy to assist us in building our set from the very beginning.

Successful applicants will take part of this exciting opportunity and will have the chance to make their mark as a part of the original Crucible team. Applicants can expect to be in Court almost daily, with a thriving criminal practice, both defending and prosecuting, as well as significant experience of regulatory law and professional discipline. We make a personal promise to any successful applicant: we will be dedicated in seeing you reach your full potential with supervision and support in this friendly yet elite set.

All applications must include a CV and covering letter addressed to the Recruitment Committee. Please send all applications and any questions to pupillage@crucible.law.

At our core, Crucible is strongly committed to stamping out discrimination, and striving for fair recruitment, equality of opportunity, diversity and social mobility in our profession. We warmly encourage applicants from non-traditional backgrounds to the Bar. We also strongly believe that every member’s wellbeing is a fundamental right.
