Charlie Austin Groome’s client found not guilty of numerous rapes.

After a 6 day trial at Kingston Crown Court, the jury found the defendant not guilty of all three counts on the indictment.

The defendant – a man of good character - was said to have committed multiple violent vaginal and anal rapes against his former partner during the course of a short relationship.

Following several pre-trial applications for disclosure, the defence team managed to obtain vital telephone evidence. Hundreds of pages of telephone data were served shortly before the trial. The evidence was used in cross-examination to challenge and undermine the prosecution’s case.

After just over 2 hours in deliberation, the jury returned unanimous verdicts of Not Guilty.

Charlie was instructed by Matt Bliss of Stryders.
