Julia Flanagan secures acquittal for accountant accused of assault.

Julia Flanagan successfully represented an accountant accused of assault against a family member.

The defendant was alleged to have punched the elderly complainant several times causing visible injuries . Part of the incident was recorded on CCTV and part was audibly recorded.

The defendant asserted he had acted in lawful self-defence and worked with the team at Bark and Co to ensure he produced his own video evidence, telephone evidence and extensive background material to ensure a full picture of the circumstances was placed before the court and to rebut the complainant’s allegations.

At court, the defence were able to demonstrate in cross-examination that the complainant was a contradictory and unreliable witness.

The defendant was swiftly acquitted.
