Libby Anderson represents a serving Corporal who avoids dismissal following a knife attack.
21 May 2025
Libby represented a serving Corporal charged with an offence under the Armed Forces Act 2006 at Bulford Military Court Centre.
Libby’s client pleaded guilty to behaving in a threatening manner which occurred when he went into an accommodation block and shouted at a soldier to sort out his admin. He then ripped a bunk bed off the wall and grabbed the soldier’s lapels, pushing him against a wall, before being separated by senior NCOs and leaving the block. The soldier then went to his webbing, removed his multi tool and opened the knife attachment before jumping out of the window where he chased the Corporal before biting and stabbing him, causing shallow cuts. The offence took place in Germany in May 2024 when both men were returning from deployment in Estonia. The offence was aggravated by the NCO’s previous record and the fact that he was in rank at the time.
Libby’s client avoided dismissal and imprisonment, but was sentenced to four months’ service detention at MCTC Colchester, after which he may return to his unit.
