Libby Anderson secures serious assault acquittal.

Libby Anderson, instructed by Dan Martin of JMW Law, secured an acquittal for a man of good character in a serious assault case.
In the course of a scuffle between parents at a children’s birthday party, the complainant had suffered a dislocated shoulder requiring hospital treatment under general anaesthetic. At trial, Libby undermined the credibility of the complainant and two eyewitnesses through close analysis of CCTV footage showing the client’s actions in the minutes leading up to the assault, putting forward the defence case that the injury had occurred by accident. This was supported by character evidence describing the client as a man who would seek to defuse a tense situation rather than aggravate it, and whom the witness had never known to act with violence.
Following Libby’s efforts, the client was found not guilty.
