Victoria Taylor.
Victoria completed pupillage at Crucible under the supervision of Laura Bayley, Libby Anderson and Ben Rowe. As a tenant she accepts instructions in all areas of Chambers' work.
Prior to commencing pupillage, Victoria worked in the advice sector for six years. Victoria’s experience of working for an advice charity across various prisons has given her practical knowledge of the criminal justice system. This role involved working across a Young Offenders’ Institute, women’s prison, and a Category A male prison. She worked in conjunction with the probation service and prison service, advising prisoners on their housing rights, defending possession proceedings for social housing, and advocating on their behalf to secure accommodation on release.
Victoria’s role immediately before pupillage was as a legal aid housing caseworker in an advice centre. She represented clients in possession proceedings, disrepair claims and judicial review. Victoria is adept at working with clients who have complex mental health issues and addiction issues.
Victoria is committed to supporting opportunities for people from ‘non-traditional’ backgrounds to pursue a career in law. She volunteers with a social mobility charity in Brixton, providing career advice and mentorship to young women.
