Miranda Lickert.
Miranda joined chambers as a probationary tenant in November 2025, having successfully completed pupillage at a mixed criminal, public, and regulatory set in London. She is developing a broad practice and accepts instructions across all areas of chambers’ work. Miranda has a particular interest in financial and environmental crime, inquests, regulatory law, and in public and criminal matters which engage national security issues. Miranda is frequently instructed by the Metropolitan Police in applications for quasi-criminal preventative orders and POCA proceedings.
During pupillage, Miranda drafted advice on complex POCA proceedings, extradition, criminal appeals, and the UK’s first prosecution under the Russia (Sanctions) EU Exit Regulations 2019. Miranda also assisted in a number of inquests and police disciplinary matters.
Immediately prior to pupillage Miranda worked in the Cabinet Office. She has extensive experience in matters of economic and national security. She also spent time working on criminal justice reform pilot projects in China at the Great Britain-China Centre, and as an advocate for a number of homelessness and migrant charities across London. Her PhD examined the social and political dynamics of video game production and play in rural Cuba.
Miranda is dedicated to building a strong pro bono practice. During her pupillage she successfully acted on a pro bono basis for a defendant charged with a breach of COVID regulations dating back to 2021. During her legal studies, Miranda volunteered for the School Exclusion Project and the University of London Refugee Law Clinic.
